Editorial Policy and Comparison Methodology

The standards used to research, disclose, update, and correct Study Companion content.

Who publishes the content

Articles are published by the Study Companion Editorial Team. The team writes about document-based studying, learning workflows, accessibility, educational technology, and the product category in which Study Companion operates.

A company byline is not a claim of medical, psychological, legal, or other licensed professional expertise. Pages concerning a diagnosed condition are educational and are not a substitute for professional advice.

Research and source standards

Quantitative claims should link to the exact study, dataset, official documentation, or first-party pricing page that supports them. A publication name or institution homepage is not sufficient evidence for a specific statistic.

When strong evidence is unavailable, we describe the point qualitatively or identify it as product experience or editorial judgment. We do not invent survey results, customer counts, institutional case studies, or performance improvements.

Product comparisons

Study Companion is included in some comparisons and benefits commercially when readers become customers. That relationship is disclosed here and should be clear in the article.

Comparison pages evaluate publicly documented features, limits, pricing, supported inputs, and intended use cases. Prices and free-tier limits can change; each comparison should state when they were checked and link to the relevant first-party sources.

We aim to name meaningful limitations of Study Companion as well as competing products. Placement is not sold, and no competitor can pay for a more favorable ranking.

AI-assisted drafting

Automation may assist with outlines, editing, or formatting. It does not remove the need to check facts, links, product details, calculations, and source attribution before publication.

AI-generated summaries can misstate research. Claims are evaluated against the cited source rather than accepted from a generated draft.

Updates and corrections

Material changes should update the visible modified date. Routine formatting changes do not require a new date.

When a factual problem is reported, we review the original source, correct the page when warranted, and remove unsupported claims rather than preserving them for search traffic.

Contact and corrections

To report an error, include the page URL, the statement in question, and a supporting source when possible. Email info@studycompanion.io. You can also use the contact form.
