If you disagree with any part of these Terms, then you may not access the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
Service Description
What We Provide
Study Companion is an AI-powered learning platform that offers:
- Document processing and analysis using artificial intelligence
- Text-to-speech functionality for educational content
- Intelligent summarization and key concept extraction
- Personalized learning recommendations and insights
- Multi-format document support (PDF, DOCX, images)
Service Availability
We strive to provide continuous service availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues beyond our control.
User Accounts
Account Creation and Responsibility
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for:

AI-Generated Content
Content generated by our AI technology (summaries, analyses, etc.) is provided for educational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee the completeness or reliability of AI-generated content.
Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

Our Service may integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party services.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Study Companion be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Credits and Payment Terms
One-Time Credit Packs
Study Companion does not currently sell recurring subscription plans. Paid usage is funded through one-time credit-pack purchases. Current pack options and prices are shown on the pricing page.
Promotional Credits
New accounts may receive promotional credits. We may change or discontinue promotional offers, but doing so does not create a recurring charge.
Credit Use
The Service shows the applicable credit cost before a processing action is confirmed. Costs can depend on page count and optional generated assets. Purchased credits do not expire. Any action-specific cost is presented in the product before you confirm it.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. When you buy a pack, you authorize the one-time amount shown at checkout. Study Companion does not authorize a recurring subscription charge for the current credit-pack product.
Termination
Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease immediately.
Termination by Us
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms or for conduct that we believe violates our policies.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. We will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Applicable Law and Disputes
Applicable Rights
These Terms do not designate a specific governing jurisdiction. Applicable law and mandatory consumer rights may depend on where you live and the entity providing the Service.
Dispute Resolution
Please contact legal@studycompanion.io first so we can try to resolve a concern. Any formal dispute remains subject to applicable law and any rights that cannot legally be waived.
Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Study Companion regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
Notification of Changes
We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We may also send email notifications for significant changes.
Continued Use
Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you should discontinue using the Service.
